I’m a self motivated and accomplished Director of Photography with over 17 years of experience. I started this journey in 1995 as a teenager when I decided to turn my passion for filmmaking into a “Job” and went full-time in 2003. Since then I have had the opportunity to shoot in over 20 plus countries all over the world in very challenging conditions from the extreme heat of Monument Valley in Utah, to the high altitudes of the Himalayas at the base of Mount Everest. To the extreme humidity of Singapore and Puerto Rico. I have also had the amazing experience of shooting in a Zero Gravity environment.
With a broad range of experience, from Drama, TV commercials to music videos. Having worked primarily on documentaries has enabled me to embrace the authenticity of what is happening in front of the lens, allowing me to apply a very naturalistic approach to my commercial work. The diverse mix projects over the years has prepared for every eventuality that unfolds and has given me a very adaptable skill set. During this time a number of these projects have been Nominated for the Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTA’s). I am a fully qualified drone pilot with the Irish Aviation Authority with over 5 years experience flying in challenging and complex situations.
This experience has resulted in me being one of the go to drone operators in Ireland, providing drone services for feature films, TV commercials and a broad range of high end TV shows. Dynamic and close range flying is my specialty combined with my experience as a Director of Photography.
